ee... kuidas see õnnestub põikimootoriga autol (või plaanivad nad äkki Golfi põhja peale tehtud autol mootori pikuti panna :o )

P.S. "kahekettaline sidur" ehk tegelikkuses DSG-süsteem on ka just Golfilt tuttav...

MaQQu - 22.07.05 06:21

Njaa, 260kw stockis pole paha, usun et 3,2-sel FSI-l on piisavalt potensiaali ka peale saksa tuntud tuuningfirmasi läbi käies tunduvalt suuremaid jõu- ja ilunumbreid näidata. Võrdluseks RS4 B5 stock 280kw ning peale SKN-i koolitust läbides 334kw. Way to go Audi : )

päkapikk - 22.07.05 12:43

Kusjuures see on esimene "sobiva" kerega RS mudel.

Tulles aga tagasi RS3 juurde. Tu võib olla täitsa asjalik riistapuu, nagu juba eelnevalt mainitud, siis naisele võiks ju täitsa osta:)

See kõik kõlab päris paljulubavalt - on vähemalt normaalse kubatuuriga mootor võetud...

Joel - 19.02.06 20:16

Audi RS3 confirmed

Audi has finally revealed its RS3 hot hatch, complete with the TT RS's 335bhp engine and 0-60mph in 4.6secs.

Audi is expanding its RS portfolio. Sharing showroom space with the RS5 and TT RS from next April will be the RS3. It has quite a lot in common with the hottest TT, too. Like its coupe cousin it uses the same 2.5-litre direct injection five cylinder and develops identical power figures: 335bhp and 332lb ft.

The RS3 is far from light, though. At 1575kg, it’s 125kg more than the TT RS, which is bound to dent performance a little – although a claimed 0-60mph (aided by the inevitable quattro 4wd system) of 4.6secs isn’t shabby. It will only be available with the S Tronic double clutch gearbox (our long term TT RS is a manual), but there will be a launch control system.

Elsewhere the front track width has been increased, the ride height has been dropped by 25mm from the standard A3 and it is surely one of the only cars to have wider front tyres than rear (235/35 ZR19 vs 225/35 ZR19). Hopefully this has been done to allow the RS3’s tail to be more playful. Titanium coloured 19in alloys are standard, but you will also be able to have them in black with a red rim strip.

The only other bit of interest about the RS3 is that it will only be available as a Sportback model – Audi-speak for five door. The reasoning goes that potential three door buyers would opt for the TT RS instead. UK ordering opens in December, with first deliveries from next April, with a likely price of around £40,000 (in Europe it will cost 49,900 euros). It will inevitably do battle with the eagerly anticipated BMW 1-Series M Coupe, which we've driven recently and rate rather highly. The RS3 will have its work cut out to better it.

Audi RS3 Sportback 2011 - Official Teaser

* Five-cylinder turbo delivering 250 kW (340 hp) and 450 Nm (331.90 lb ft) of torque
* Zero to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in 4.6 seconds, superior pulling power
* Seven-speed S tronic, quattro drive and 19-inch wheels

Blazing performance, compact size. Audi has added a new model to its dynamic RS series: the RS 3 Sportback. In the great tradition of the brand, its engine boasts five cylinders and turbocharging technology. From a displacement of 2.5 liters come 250 kW (340 hp) of power and 450 Nm (331.90 lb-ft) of torque, with an average fuel consumption of just 9.1 liters of fuel per 100 km (25.85 US mpg).

Power is transmitted to the road via a seven-speed S tronic and quattro permanent all-wheel drive. 19-inch wheels and fenders made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) underscore the Audi RS 3 Sportback’s position of distinction.

Power and sound: the engine
Each Audi RS model represents the pinnacle of its model line – the RS 3 Sportback, developed by quattro GmbH, now brings this dynamic philosophy to the compact category. It rockets from a dead stop to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in 4.6 seconds – a performance figure unrivaled by the competition. Top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155.34 mph). Even so the compact car, weighing in at only 1,575 kilograms (3,472.28 pounds), uses on average just 9.1 liters of fuel per 100 km (25.85 US mpg) and emits 212 g CO2 per km (341.18 g/mile). This efficiency is due in large part to a delivery-on-demand oil pump and a regenerative system that recovers energy as the car decelerates.

The 2.5-liter engine in the RS 3 Sportback will thrill passengers thanks to its tremendous pulling power and its voracious revving up to 6,800 rpm. The guttural roaring and growling, backed by the signature rhythm of the five-cylinder firing order make up the classic Audi soundtrack. A sound flap in the exhaust branch intensifies the sound even further. The flap is controlled via the standard Sport button, which also varies the engine response.

Powerful five-cylinder engines have a long legacy at Audi. In the 1980s, racing cars and production cars used them to edge out the competition. Even the first Audi RS model, the 1994 RS 2, had a five-cylinder engine. The 2.5-liter unit, already part of the TT RS specifications, now redefines the state of the art, having recently been named “International Engine of the Year” by a high-ranking jury of automotive journalists.

The 2.5 TFSI delivers 250 kW (340 hp) from a displacement of 2,480 cc: a specific power output of 100.8 kW (137.1 hp) per liter. The maximum torque of 450 Nm (331.90 lb-ft) is readily available at the low end of the rev range, around 1,600 rpm, and remains constant up to 5,300 revolutions. These general parameters yield excellent acceleration and elasticity values.

Just 49 centimeters (19.29 inches) in length, the five-cylinder unit is ultra-compact, tipping the scales at a mere 183 kilograms (403.45 pounds). The crankcase is made of vermicular-graphite cast iron, a high-strength yet lightweight material. Audi is the first car maker to use this material in a gasoline engine. Perfectly placed reinforcements further enhance the block’s loadability. The lightweight-design concept keeps the Audi RS 3 Sportback’s weight in check and pays off big in terms of axle‑load distribution and, ultimately, handling.

The large turbocharger generates up to 1.2 bar of boost pressure. The intercooler downstream achieves an efficiency rate of over 80 percent. Like all Audi gasoline turbos, the 2.5 TFSI combines turbocharging technology with FSI direct injection. The marriage of these two technologies facilitates a high compression ratio (10.0:1) along with a correspondingly high efficiency ratio. Flaps in the intake tract mix the air as it flows in. The two camshafts, each adjustable by 42 degrees of crankshaft rotation, also enhance the efficiency of the mixture formation.

Speed and grip: the drivetrain
The compact seven-speed S tronic transmits power from the five-cylinder engine via three shafts: one drive shaft and two output shafts. Like all dual-clutch transmissions, it comprises two transmission structures. The shifting process is extremely smooth, taking place in hundredths of a second as the clutches switch, with no perceptible interruption of pulling power. Seventh gear is very tall – a measure that reduces fuel consumption.

The driver can operate the seven-gear S tronic in two automatic modes and one manual mode. Gears are shifted using the paddles on the steering wheel or the selector lever. The launch control system manages the sprint from a dead stop, furnishing explosive turbo power with minimal tire slip.

Delivering power to the road with effortless ease, the quattro permanent all-wheel drive grants the RS 3 Sportback traction, dynamics, and stability. Its central component is an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch, mounted at the end of the propeller shaft to achieve a favorable axle load distribution. Located in its interior is a plate package bathed in oil.

Thanks to quattro, the propulsive power can be distributed to each axle as needed. Whenever slip occurs at one of the axles, an electric pump intervenes at lightning speed to increase the oil pressure. The pump presses the clutch plates together in a continuous fashion, thereby permitting the torque to be redirected accordingly. Thanks to a powerful accumulator, this process takes just a few milliseconds.

Dynamics and safety: the chassis
The stiff body lays the cornerstone for the RS 3 Sportback’s precise handling; the chassis is what makes it happen. The four-link rear suspension – with a track measuring 1,528 millimeters (60.16 inches) – is anchored to a subframe and features high-strength-steel control arms that allow it to handle longitudinal and lateral forces separately.

Widened to a 1,564-millimeter (61.57-inch) track, the front suspension is a McPherson strut construction, also with a separate subframe. Key components of the construction are made of aluminum. Thanks to its electromechanical drive, the rack-and-pinion steering is highly efficient, with a sporty-direct gear ratio of 16.2:1.

Coil springs and redesigned shock absorbers provide the vertical support. The sports suspension lowers the body of the RS 3 Sportback by 25 millimeters (0.98 inch) compared with the A3. The new range-topping model in the A3 series boasts 19-inch cast aluminum wheels fitted with 235/35 series tires at the front and 225/35 at the rear. The wheels come standard with machine-polished titanium-look styling, but are optionally available in black with a red rim flange.

The internally ventilated disks measure 370 millimeters (14.57 inches) in diameter at the front and 310 millimeters (12.20 inches) at the rear. The front friction rings are perforated for maximum heat dissipation. They are connected by hollow pins to the aluminum brake disk covers, which are encircled by four-piston fixed calipers painted a high-gloss black and bearing RS logos. The electronic stabilization program (ESP) features a Sport mode and can be switched off entirely.

Precisely guided by its responsive steering, the RS 3 Sportback eagerly takes to curves and exits them with agility, stability, and serenity. The stability limit is extremely high, an effortless mastery that rounds off the character of this powerful compact car.

Interior and exterior: dynamic styling
The new top-of-the-line model in the A3 series hints at its explosive potential from the very first glimpse. Together with the xenon plus headlights, the front apron, the anthracite single-frame grill with diamond-patterned styling and the air intakes cut a distinctive figure.

The side view is dominated by the flared front fenders made of carbon‑fiber‑reinforced plastic (CFRP), prominent sill panels, exterior-mirror casings in matt aluminum look and a large roof spoiler. A high-gloss black diffusor insert and two elliptical exhaust tailpipes on the left accentuate the styling at the rear. RS 3 badges adorn the single-frame grill and the rear hatch.

The dynamic style is matched in the interior, entirely black and sporting a number of RS 3 logos. The sports seats are upholstered in Fine Nappa leather with silver contrasting stitching; the inlays gleam in Piano finish black or the new Aluminum Race look; the leather multifunction sports steering wheel is flat-bottomed. The selector lever and instruments are specially designed. The driver information system can display the boost pressure and oil temperature as well as a lap timer.

The RS 3 Sportback comes with an array of standard equipment including the Sport button, rear parking system, climate control, chorus radio system, and xenon plus headlights with LED daytime running lights. Audi offers customers a range of optional features: front bucket seats, roof rails in matt aluminum look, and styling packages in black or matt aluminum. Five exterior colors are available, plus an unlimited selection of custom paint finishes.

The new top-of-the-line model in the A3 series is already the fourth Audi model to be built at Audi Hungaria in Győr, where it is rolling off the assembly line alongside the TT Coupé, the TT Roadster and the A3 Cabriolet.

Deliveries of the RS 3 Sportback will begin in early 2011. The base price in Germany will be 49,900 euros.

Ega peale Nordschleife aja BMW-l muud polegi vastu panna. Olgu neil vähemalt see rõõm :D

Vaatasin täna just Delfi Fortest kah seda videot... Who really cares about that, when there is so much understeer?" :D
Video ise on SIIN

AronL - 25.04.14 20:41

Arusaamatu jah, koostöös S-tronic kastiga on selle R5 hääl ikka ülim:cool:

AronL - 13.12.14 11:46

See tundub nüüd olevat uue RS3 viimane info.

S4BiT - 13.12.14 12:41

Ja mootor jäi siiski seesama kahepoolene R5, väga vinge auto igaljuhul.

Linna vahel sõidab üks popikas-hall RS3. Pilkupüüdev on see kindlasti, rääkimata väljalaske noodist. Ma ei tea, kas sellel on originaal väljalase aga häält teeb see mehe moodi.

AronL - 27.03.16 11:21

Sellel vist tehase poolt pakutav sportväljalase, uhket häält teeb see auto küll.

2017 Audi RS3 Sedan 400 HP Catalunya Red - Drive and Design

Avaldati 29. sept 2016
2017 Audi RS3 Sedan 400 HP - Drive, Interior and Exterior. Color: Catalunya Red.

The new 2.5 TFSI outputs 294 kW (400 hp) – 33 hp more than its predecessor. That makes it the most powerful five-cylinder engine on the world market. Its 480 Nm (354.0 lb-ft) of torque is available at engine speeds between 1,700 and 5,850 revolutions per minute for outstanding tractive power. The compact RS model sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in just 4.1 seconds. It can attain a maximum speed of 250 km/h (155.3 mph); on request Audi will increase the electronically limited top speed to 280 km/h (174.0 mph). The unique sound of the five-cylinder unit intensifies an already emotionally charged driving experience. Its sound comes from having the ignition alternate between directly adjacent cylinders and widely spaced ones. The sound can be modified via Audi drive select.

With its light-alloy crankcase, the five-cylinder engine is 26 kilograms (57.3 lb) lighter than its predecessor. It employs a dual injection into the intake manifold and into the combustion chambers, as well as the Audi valvelift system for variable control of the exhaust valves. The result is optimal power development at a reduced consumption level.

With lightning-fast shifting, the S tronic seven-speed dual clutch transmission transmits the power of the 2.5 TFSI to the quattro permanent all-wheel drive. Its electro-hydraulic multi-plate clutch distributes the drive torque variably between the axles. The electronic control combines superior stability with a high level of driving pleasure. The sportier the driving, the faster and more often will a large share of the torque reach the rear axle. The result: especially agile driving characteristics.

quattro management is integrated as a standard feature in the Audi drive select dynamic handling system, as are the steering, S tronic, engine management and the adjustable exhaust flaps. The driver can individually vary the operation of these components between the three modes comfort, auto and dynamic. The same is true for the optional RS sport suspension plus with adaptive damper control.

Wheel-selective torque control, an intelligent software feature of the Electronic Stabilization Control (ESC), rounds off the work of the all-wheel drive. In fast cornering it slightly brakes the inside wheels, which are under a reduced load. In this way it can transmit greater lateral power, making handling more fluid and stable. In addition, the RS-specifically tuned ESC comes with a sport mode for controlled drifting. The ESC can also be fully deactivated for especially sporty driving characteristics.

Progressive steering, four-link rear axle, a tight setup and lowered by 25 millimeters (1.0 in) relative to the standard model – the chassis of the RS 3 sedan is the perfect partner for the powerful drive system. From its stable center position, the RS 3 sedan spontaneously steers into curves and follows through with superior precision. The front brake disks have a diameter of
370 millimeters (14.6 in), while eight-piston calipers with large-area linings provide optimal deceleration. Alternatively, Audi supplies carbon-fiber ceramic disks in front. At the rear axle there are brake disks with a diameter of 310 millimeters (12.2 in). Standard on the RS 3 sedan are 19-inch wheels and 235/35 tires. 255/30 tires are optionally available in front.

The new top athlete in the compact segment also expresses its sporty character visually. The Singleframe with its three-dimensional honeycomb grille bears the quattro logo along the bottom. Underneath, a blade extends across the entire width of the front into the side air inlets, where it forms narrow funnels for better air flow through the wheel arches. LED headlights with their distinctive daytime running light signature are standard; Audi also offers matrix LED headlights as an option. Compared with an A3, the front track of the RS 3 sedan is wider by 20 millimeters (0.8 in) – the front wheel arches are accordingly wider flared as well. At the rear axle the wheels are spaced 14 millimeters (0.6 in) further apart compared with the basic model.

A fixed spoiler lip on the luggage compartment lid improves the separation of air flow. A distinctive diffusor insert with vertical struts and the large oval tailpipes of the RS exhaust system terminate the rear. Audi exclusively offers the RS-specific paint colors Nardo gray and Catalunya red as options.

2017 Audi RS3 review - Audi's smallest RS hits new heights
DAN PROSSER15 MAR 2017
VERDICT:
The fastest and best Audi RS3 so far
EVO RATING:
PRICE:
£45,000 (est)
FOR
Huge performance, stirring soundtrack, now more engaging to drive
AGAINST
Cost, certain hot hatch rivals more entertaining

The new Audi RS3 is available for the first time in hatchback and saloon bodystyles. With its five-cylinder turbo engine now uprated to a shade under 400bhp, the RS3 reclaims its title as the most powerful hot hatch on sale as well as becoming the most powerful small saloon on the market.

Both bodystyles will be available globally, with Audi anticipating a 60:40 sales split in favour of the five-door Sportback version. The RS3 will be available to order in April this year with deliveries due to commence in August.

The previous RS3’s combination of handsome styling, muscular straight-line performance and cabin quality made it a hit with buyers, but its one-dimensional dynamics proved less popular among keen drivers.

Engine, transmission and 0-60 time

The familiar 2.5-litre five-cylinder single turbo engine has been heavily revised for this latest RS3. Peak power is 395bhp, an increase of 33bhp on the previous model, while torque is rated at 354lb ft between 1700 and 5850rpm.

Audi quotes a launch control-assisted 0-62mph time of 4.1 seconds and 155mph flat out, which can be lifted to 174mph if you tick the correct box on the options list.

The TFSI unit uses a dual injection system, which can inject fuel directly into the combustion chamber as well as into the intake manifold to improve performance and efficiency, depending on the driving style. The cylinders are plasma coated to reduce friction and the crankshaft is now hollow bored, saving 1kg.

In fact, Audi has worked hard in a number of areas to reduce the weight of engine. An aluminium crankcase has helped to trim 26kg away from the five-pot, which not only reduces the weight of the car as a whole but also improves weight distribution.

The only transmission option is a seven-speed S tronic twin-clutch gearbox. Drive is sent to all four wheels via a quattro four-wheel drive system that can send between 50 and 100 per cent of the engine’s torque to the rear axle. Audi says that makes the RS3 more engaging and playful than ever.

Technical highlights?

The RS3’s centrepiece is its drivetrain, but Audi’s engineers have turned their attention to the car’s chassis, too. It rides 25mm lower than a standard A3 with specifically tuned springs and dampers. The car comes with passive dampers as standard but adaptive items – or Audi Magnetic Ride – can be specified.

The electric steering system adjusts its level of assistance according to speed, while the variable rack means the steering ratio becomes more direct with more steering angle. This isn’t one of Audi’s dynamic steering setups, which comes as welcome news.

With the car set to dynamic mode and the electronic stability control in sport, the four-wheel drive system favours the rear axle, giving more adjustable handling behaviour. The ESC can also be fully switched off.

The standard brake setup uses 370mm cast iron discs on the front axle with eight piston calipers, although carbon ceramic rotors can be specified up front. A sports exhaust also features on the options list, as does Audi’s virtual cockpit, which replaces the traditional dials with a 12-inch TFT screen.

At 1510kg for the Sportback and 1515kg for the Saloon the RS3 is fractionally lighter than the BMW M2. It’s also lighter than both the Mercedes-AMG CLA45 and A45.

What’s it like to drive?

The previous RS3 was fast in a straight line and great to sit in, but it felt heavy and leaden-footed in corners. This latest version is even faster in a straight line and the cabin is still perhaps the best of any hot hatch currently on sale, but the car is now fun and engaging to drive on a winding road.

There are two main reasons for this. Whereas the previous RS3 would understeer defiantly on turn in, this new model feels much more agile on the way into a corner with more front-end grip and a neutral chassis balance. In fact, you can actually persuade the rear end to step out by a few degrees on the way into a turn, something earlier RS3s would never have done on the road.

On top of that, the four-wheel drive system is now much more willing to send torque rearwards, which in quick but sensible driving makes the car feel like it’s pushing you out of a corner rather than pulling – a much more enjoyable sensation – and if you’re driving like a hooligan the car will actually pull off modest powerslides. Rather than being lifeless and prescriptive in its handling, the new RS3 is rewarding and entertaining.

Incidentally, Audi’s engineers say both variants of the RS3 should feel more or less exactly the same to drive, which was backed up by our test drives in the two versions.

All of the test cars on the launch event were fitted with passive dampers rather than the adaptive Audi Magnetic Ride equipment. On reasonably smooth Omani roads, the ride quality had a certain tension to it without being crashy or uncomfortable, but it remains to be seen if there’s enough pliancy here to deal with a really tricky UK back road.

Polegi Audi puhul harjunud sellist lauset lugema.

http://www.evo.co.uk/mercedes/a45-amg

For a time the A45 looked a little too expensive next to similarly capable rivals, but Audi's RS3 at over £40,795 suggests that's simply the premium manufacturers now charge for a luxury hatchback with a 0-60mph sprint in the four-second range. Despite such a similar price tag the A45 can’t match the Audi for quality and, unlike its predeccesors, the Audi is a truly fun car to drive – the same cannot be said of the Merc.

2017 Audi RS3 Review
