XL is the Extra Load load range. The tyre is developed for a maximum load of four units higher. For speeds over 210 km/h the actual load of V, W and Y
rated tyres is reduced accordingly.
RF means Reinforced Speed Rating, which means that the tyre is in the highest passenger car load range designed for carrying higher loads than
ordinary car tyres.
RF tyres need to have higher inflation pressures than ordinary passenger car tyres. A common inflation pressure with a maximum load is 290 kPa. When
hauling a trailer or a caravan at speeds below 100 km/h, the maximum load bearing capacity can be exceeded by 10% by increasing the inflation pressure
by 20 kPa.
