We've been posting about our weeklies and recent activities for a while, so here's something different: a topic dedicated to go more in-depth about the actual products in case you're not familiat with all of them.

You'll find about 50000 different products in the shop. Mainly suspension, brakes, clutches and engine parts as that's what we specialize in. In this topic, we'll go more into the products in general, and less on what is happening at a certain time.



Shipping
- We ship everything from our warehouse in Finland, and regularily to other EU countries.
- From February 2017 your orders ship at a flat rate 9,90 € to anywhere in Estonia. Orders over 400 € are shipped for free.
- For shipping we use a trackable postal parcel delivered to your door, and you will get the tracking number as well of course.
- If you visit Finland often, we're just 40 km from Helsinki and you can also come by.

Payments
- Most customers make a SEPA bank transfer. There are no costs and the payment arrives within one day.
- You can also pay by Paypal and Credit cards in the webshop.
- All credit card transfers are handled by Nets or PayTrail which are reputable companies and ensure safty for both parties.

Powerflex - now these are a product making a real difference. With over 7500 different bushings, there's kit available for almost any car and they all are listed in the shop.
If you're not familiar with polyurethane bushings: they are firmer and longer lasting than stock rubber bushings and make a big difference in how firm the drive feels. Cars with upgraded suspension usually benefit even more as stiffer suspension screams for stiffer bushes.

Quaife is the most popular street limited slip diff, and for good reason: A torsen never completely locks, meaning that while you still get full traction there are no sounds, no hard turns and these even work seamlessly with original traction control systems.
Most usual models are in stock. Installing an lsd is among the best upgrades if you really like driving a bit harder. Rwd cars are more fun and fwd cars stop pulling the steering.

Midsummer eve's weekie!

There's no point in braking midsummer eve parties, instead braking a car properly is very important



We've been doing a lot of field testing with the D2 big brake kits in our own cars. The kits, bolted to our S13 for nearly 10 years, still run the original pads and discs, while the car has seen some street driving as well as some track days. More serious track would naturally need harder track pads, but for all-round street the stock setup is great.
There's been no need for opening or cleaning the calipers, allthough the need for it also depends on the driving conditions, and doesnt really hurt to do anyways. Having clean calipers ensures pad and disc wear is even.



The handbrake works on most models. Cars with an oe drum parking brake (like the S13), simply come with a drum in the aluminum center bell. An aluminum bell is fine for parking, but in case you like pulling the hand brake from high speeds, then we suggest you get a hydraulic handbrake.
D2 kits also have caliper handbrake models, and also a new caliper with an electronic hand brake (try "pulling" an EPB in the parking lot )



The smartest choices for most cars are the 330 and 356mm kits. Based on our experience, a 330 mm kit is the suggestion, as it still fits 17" rims, which in turn means tire options are very wide and practical.

Weekie on Brisk and NGK -10 %

Even the latest summer cars should now be on the road, and in case testing reveals sputtering, here's some medicine to cure problems at least as far as plugs are concerned.



On the traditional weekie are Brisk and NGS plugs. All plugs are also plentiful in our own stock. The product descriptions offer more details than this topic including a cross reference chart of heat ratings.

NGK plugs are often told to be the one and only working plug especially in some turbocharged jap models. Why not, they're good plugs =)

DS / Turbo -models: Especially for E85 and high boost pressure builds where no other plugs simply work.
LGS quad tip models: For cars with direct ignition plugs. Produces a good and long spark so these are also the most economical version.
Iridium -models: A traditional Iridium plug which can handle high temperatures are pressures. Easier on the coils and also suitable for mild E85 builds.
Silver: Competition engines and for hard to ignite fuels.

New legal changes from Trafi in Finland!
As a result of the law change this week Monday 28 August 2017 Trafi changed the regulations regarding the high beams - now its possible to put also a odd number of lamps, so installing "Swedish style" is allowed. In installation combo cars own lights + 3 extra beams is legitimate, but there is a need to keep in mind the reference ratings, which means that the reference number can not exceed over 100.

Winter tire season is coming quickly and what would be better than put these in our weekly discount. There is a wide range of different bolts and nuts from Eibach. We also have hex female wheel nuts as a new produc, there are available in M12 x 1.5 and M12 x 1.25 threads, and black or silver. These wheel nuts are very small in diameter and can be used to mount those rims with deep and/or small bolt holes without damaging the rim.


Eibach spacers come as hub-centric bolt-on, slip-on and thin disc which will center with the hubs original center bore: you can't really make a hub-centric spacer which is thinner than the height of the hub's center. Increasing track width makes the car more stable and reduces roll, in addition to better looks. Eibach wheel spacers are made of high quality aluminum, and have steel thread inserts in the bolt-on models.

A new Cloud9 server

What's a service manual? Well it's a manual usually published by the car factory which is used by professionals when they work on a car. The manual answers questions from the correct plugs to the main cap torque rating and -order.

We dont have a manual for each an every car, but managed to upload quite a nice selection of the models usually surfacing in FB/forum discussions. New arrival: Snow Performance water injection kits -10%

Snow Performance water injection kits just arrived into our stock, and they are now on a -10 % introduction promo!



What is a water injection system and what is it useful for?

A water injection system literally injects water or a water/methanol mix into the engine, cooling down intake air up to 100 C, which is basically a chemical way of turbocharging as more air and thus more fuel can be delivered into the engine.

Here's a decent schematic on how it works.



Methanol is a slow burning high-octane fuel, which when mixed 50/50 with water and sprayed into the intake, can rize octane rating by 25. This means regular 98 octane pump gas turns into 123 octane race fuel.

A water injection system also keeps the combustion chamber clean and free of deposits.

Weekie: Cusco limited slip differentials -5 %
Quality for a slightly smaller price, namely the Japanese Cusco limited slip differentials. If you know what Cusco is, then it might be time to do some shopping, and if not, then definitely give this post a read.



Cusco develops, others copy. So it goes, and there's nothing wrong with it. This Japanese elite racing brand tests and develops all their products with the Japanese top quality mentality, and the result is a brand which is seriously respected.

This weeks offer is for the Cusco Type-RS and -MS limited slip differentials, which are plate type differentials. They are completely serviceable and offer tons of grip as well as predictable and linear driveability. All Cusco differentials are completely serviceable. Type-RS is a street version where the RS springs push the differential open. It means this differential is as streetable as a plate-type diff comes. When more torque is applied, this grips like a beast.

Type-MZ is a pure track differential, where the MZ springs preload the clutch assy to give a very linear and strong grip even in those very high powered cars where regular differentials fry.

Lets start with a small story (translated from Finnish): I was visiting Professional Motorsport a while ago, and tend to check company emails and facebook messages even though we do have staff at the warehouse. It's an entrepreneurs habit. There I sat, eating breakfast (=drinking coffee), and the phone let me know there was a new message. It started with a controversial "F**ck guys!". As you know, phones don't show the complete message, only the first few words on the notification bar.
I almost inhaled the coffee and thought "well, this day started great....".

I opened the message, and it continued: "Now the s**t *** oils (brand-service suggested oil), are out, and Amsoil put in place. I have sometimes used *** -oil, but it didn't work in cold conditions. I hope Amsoil works in the cold mornings as well, but i wouldn't have believed a transmission which is usually regarded an "all of these are hard to shift" -transmission, could shift this easily! gears can be hanged with one finger!

Anyways. I rarely feel like giving great feedback, but this feels great! Especially if it still works tomorrow morning!". And guess what: it did.

A permission to use the feedback was asked and the less-performing oil names are removed as that is simply polite.


Needless to say, that kind if feedback makes our day, and is the best indicator of product which is genuinely good! Measurements, lab tests and great-looking banners are far far behind from a clear feedback like this.

Radiators takes care of cooling the coolant and thereby the engine - more power, more heat. We checked Red Line and Castrol oil and additive pricing, the result was that now the prices are more better than yesterday. Bigger order amounts and better shipping prices show directly in customers price.



Red Line and Castrol prices dropped today, especially stock items are much cheaper in webshop and also in our store. From Castrol, we have took especially motor oils, of course we sell differential and gearbox oils as well, but more less than Red Line. From Red Line we stock and sell mainly only differential/gearbox oils and fuel/engine additives as they sells the most. For example from Red Line we have lots of 75W90NS differential oil and Si-1, 85PLUS and Water Wetter additives. Thermo Tec makes high quality heat shielding products almost for any purpose. Fitment is not limited for cars, for example the heat wrap can be used for motorcycle exhaust.



Thermo Tec has a wide range of different type of heat shields available for many use. Slippery weathers coming, more grip with Quaife differential

Quaife differential works in every conditions, it is also suitable especially for slippery weather. It does not lock the wheels, but instead transfers more power to the wheel that has more traction.



Quaife is one of the best modifications for a car and especially for Finnish weathers. According to the customer feedback, the most common is the improved grip when comparing to the original diff. Quaife differentials are manufactured and designed in England where the knowledge is in high level and where all the differentials are tested before putting them to sale. Quaife works great even with big amount of snow and with the original traction control, also the yellow light does not flash so often when there is more grip.

Late 2018, you guys had a chance to answer a quick survey, where we asked how we could improve our webshop. After all, there's no point in just thinking about these things by our selves.

There were many new ideas (thanks guys!), and one of them rose above the others: model specific images. Or to be precise, information on whether the image is specific, or general. Well, we got on with it =)

We have some 14559 images in the database, which is quite a lot of imagery to tag. Of course some of the work was doable by some database mass querying, but nonetheless, there still were quite a few images for Ari to tag or leave untagged by hand. The server also needed some work, starting from the checkbox which is used to tell it whether a certain image is specific for a product.

This week we got things done, and the update is ready and live in the shop.

Rota wheels now in our webshop!

This week, Rota wheels was added in our webshop with product descriptions and model specific pictures. Rota is one of the leading brands in the market and you can find just the right wheels almost for any car.



Rotas wheel range covers a wide range of rims, basic 5-spoke models or more rigid models designed especially for off-road use. Rota alloy wheels are available in different bolt patterns, colors, offsets and widths. Spigot rings, center caps and nuts/bolts are always included in the shipment for free.

Yesterday, the wheels selector was released which make searching the wheels much easier, especially if you have bolt pattern, offset and/or width in mind. The wheel selector is now officially available from our webshop, which makes it easy to find the correct wheels. Just select the desired diameter, pcd, width and/or offset and it will show all the wheels available with chosen specs.



Wheels selector makes it easy to find the correct wheels as almost 150 wheel articles searched by hand is pretty laborious, especially when you know the specs. Of course its possible to check the wheels like before from articles or brands (its also possible with the wheel selector) - its your choice!

A lot of wheels and accesories (bolts/nuts) have recently been added to the webshop, for example we added all the Rota wheels and Japan Racing wheel amount doubled to the previous one. Spigot rings for the center bore always comes with both wheel brands and with Rota wheels, nuts or bolts are also delivered in the package. After a week of testing, the wheel selector is officially announced, now its time to get some wheels

Davies Craig electric water pumps in stock

We just got a nice batch of Davies Craig electric water pumps more in stock. We took more especially 150l/min and 115l/min models.



With Davies Craig electric water pump you can get more power and trust in the cooling system, its possible to use it with the original water pump as a booster or use only the electric pump, either way is fine! There is pumps available between 15-150l/min, smallest ones are with nylon body and biggest models with more durable aluminium body, which is actually a really great thing in bigger flowing rates.

Its possible to buy only the water pump it self or as a set which includes the controller. With controller its you can adjust the water flow and even a fan if needed, for example you can adjust the pump to stay on for a certain time after the engine has been switched off. Most common pumps like 115l, 130l and 150l are usually in stock and as said, we got a new batch of these in this morning.

Japan Racing wheels can be bought also as "custom"

In addition to the standard range of Japan Racing wheels, many wheel models can also be ordered with the desired bolt pattern and ET number as "custom". In this way, models that have run out of stock, for example, may be ordered little bit faster.



JR is undoubtedly the most popular wheel brand of this spring, they have a terrific look and the quality is at least very good. Delivery is also quite fast, the wheels that are in the factory stock rarely takes more than one week to deliver at least in near of big cities. As said, several Japan Racing models can also be purchased as "custom", the bolt pattern and the ET number can be decided by you (ET is usually set to a certain range where to choose from).

Wheel offset:
Wheel offset is the distance in millimeters from the hub mounting surface to the center line of the wheel. A positive / bigger offset is when the hub mounting surface is toward the front or outwards of the wheel. Negative / smaller offset is when the hub mounting surface is toward the back or brake side of the wheels center line. Offset can also be zero, then the hub mounting surface is even with the center line of the wheel.
Bigger = wheels sit more inwards.
Smaller = wheels come out more.

Why its smart to buy a D2 coilover kit

D2 coilover kit is an excellent choice for street and race, all kit has a height and 36 step damping adjustment - some of the kits has also camber adjustable top mount. Most popular sets are in our stock and others we can get usually in two weeks.



D2 has gained lots of popularity here in Finland, especially Street kit which is many peoples choice when replacing the old OEM suspension. Height and damping adjustment is excellent for all driving conditions in Finland. In the winter its possible to lift the suspension a little and in the spring lower again for example during the tire change. Damping adjustment gives much more comfort when its possible to adjust the stiffness depending what surface you drive on.

Coilover kits are road legal and we deliver our approval for the inspection, with that only the wheel alignment paper is needed (and of course the car aswell ;D). Headlight bulbs in our webshop!

In this week we started to add headlight bulbs in our webshop and now we have some! We have added mostly H1, H4 and H7 models.



Osram and Philips bulbs, more specifically Osram Night Breaker Silver, Osram Night Breaker Laser and Philips X-Treme vision bulbs, have now arrived in our webshop. We sell bulbs mainly by pcs (like Osram), but for example Philips X-Treme visions by pair as they are always packed like that. We also added Osram Ultra life model, which has a lifetime that is four times longer than the standard halogen bulb.

More bulbs are coming in webshop from the beginning of next week and for example we are planning to add Xenon bulbs. We will also keep the most popular bulbs in stock.

Last week we started and this week we continued to add bulbs in our webshop. Now we have Xenon bulbs also for example with D1S socket.



We have added Osram ja Philips bulbs, for example Osram Night Breaker and Philips vision bulbs. Osrams are usually sold as pcs, but for example Philips vision series as a pair (supplier only stock this as a pair). Osram Ultra life series is a smart choice for everyday car as it has a four times bigger lifetime than OEM bulb.

Xenon bulbs are also now in webshop, with sockets D1S, D2S, D3S and D4S. Serie is Osram XENARC NBL and four times more light when comparing to the OEM bulb.

More traction for winter with Quaife differential

Quaife ATB is easily the best differential on the market for street and race use! It's quiet, supplied with lifetime warranty and customer feedback has always been great.



Quaife differential is one of the greatest updates for Finnish winter and beginning of it, we usually sell lots of them. When reading the customer feedback, Quaife is more stable and has more traction when comparing to the OE diff. Differentials are made and designed in UK, where the knowledge is in a great "shape". Every Quaife unit is also tested before releasing them in to the market. They works great in every weather and usually the "yellow light" does not show up that often when there is more grip available.

During this week, we have added lots of Osram LED bulbs in to our webshop and now there is plenty of them available. Check all new LED bulbs from this topic or directly from www.race.fi.



The Osram LEDriving product family has found its way into our webshop and LED bulbs are now available for replacing headlights, indicators and interior lights. A CANBUS wiring harness is available for bulb systems to get the burned-out bulb light out of the instrument panel (the LED consumes so little power that the car's test system interprets that the bulb is broken).

Delivery times are not overwhelming, in practice they will be available the next working day and of course we will start stocking up on all the popular models so they can be picked up from us even right away. Many of you knows, but we have a real store with real opening hours here in Pornainen. Especially now when Finnish Posti is on a strike, pickups from here has been very popular And that is actually very nice!



Here we have a wide range of most popular products, we want that they are available always quickly and that its possible to pickup them from our store at anytime. Most of the stock products are performance parts, but we also has a universal equipments like exhaust gaskets, flanges and installation accessories for them.

Finnish Posti has a strike at the moment and it affects at least to the delivery times, so we recommend to use other shipping methods during this time. Best upgrade for differential: Quaife ATB

Excellent for street, race or even for off-road use! Quaife differential gives value for money by 101% as it improves driving features especially in winter or in any slippery weathers.



We recommend Quaife differential especially for street as it is almost quiet (of course its logical and there is always traction when you need it). Because Quaife is not a clutch-type differential, it works nicely when parking or driving normally and its very helpful on icy roads as Quaife never complety locks the wheels, but instead transfers more power to the wheel that has more traction.

Installation is not hard or expensive, most of the Quaife differentials are bolt-on type (old out, new in). In some cars the crownwheel is welded, which means that the crownwheel must be cut off from the OE diff and then to be bolted to the Quaife unit, after that the insallation goes basically "bolt-on". We keep the most poplar units in our own stock, now we have mostly BMW and Mercedes Quaife's here. Anyhow, non-stock models delivery time is fast as we can get them usually under a week from order.

TT-Thermo hose heaters with free shipping costs (in Finland) this weekend!

TT-Thermo hose heaters were tossed with free shipping costs (Posti, MH or DBschenker) for the weekend. Frost has been promised here for next week, so now it is worth taking the opportunity to get some warmth for the cold weather



Hose heaters action is quite simple and also very powerful. Inside the heater there is resistor which heats the coolant and a wheel which recycles the coolant inside engine, that how you get heating as efficiently as possible. A low freezing temperatures (up to -15 ° C °) up to a half hour is sufficient and with greater frost the heating time is increased to about 10-30min. The heater itself has 17mm hose outlets and the mounting angle or position is not limited. An unlimited installation angle is especially suitable when the heater is installed in to a small place.

Let's put a Eibach wheel spacers in 10% discount after a long time, so now it's excellent opportunity to get spacers with cheaper price. Eibach spacers are easy to install during the tyre change for example.



It's possible to look spacers by car model or with wheel specs, so basically if you know what car you are driving, then its easy to find the spacers as well. If the car is not known or it is not on the list for some reason, they can also be searched by bolt pattern, width or center bore and of course its possible to ask our sales for example by email (info(at)race.fi. Spacers are priced as a pair and most of the thickest spacers comes with new bolts/nuts (depends which ones car uses). Of course it makes sense to buy new bolts/nuts for all new spacers (even for thin models). We have listed them separately in webshop with lenght, type and thread.

Aluminium spacers are also much lighter than steel spacers, but they has the same durability anyway or even better. Today we uploaded newest 2020 Rota wheel listing to our webshop with product descriptions and model specific pictures of course. Rota is one of the leading brands in the market and you can find correct wheels almost for any car. It's easy to find suitable wheels with our webshop's wheel selector!



Rota wheel range covers a wide range of rims, basic 5-spoke models or more rigid models designed especially for off-road use (track/race). Rota alloy wheels are available in different bolt patterns, colors, offsets and widths. Spigot rings, center caps and nuts/bolts are always included in the shipment free of charge.

About a year ago, wheels selector was released which made searching wheels much easier, especially if you have bolt pattern, offset and/or width in mind. With wheel selector its possible to check only with wheel brand, but because of the large amount of wheels in the webshop, filtering for example with bolt pattern can be quite smart. Race Performance continues to work normally

We have moved on 18.3. from decentralized operations, minimizing the risk that we are working as part of the same infection chain from the point of view of business performance and customer safety and of course the spread of national disease. There is one person in our shop and the others are working from home.

Tuner meet in April has been canceled
We will return to the usual rhythm of tuner meets when the national situation permits. Currently the tuner meet in April has been canceled and the May's event will be decided upon as when the situation becomes clearer.

Our shop pays special and regular attention to hygiene.
- Disinfect the payment terminal, door handles and other frequently contacted surfaces.
- Disinfect the packing table and equipment to ensure safe shipments.
- Personal hygiene such as hand washing with emphasis.

You can visit in our shop normally. Customers are also provided with a hand disinfectant that we ask you to use.

Customer service, telephone, and email are all running normally. However, we ask for contacts primarily via email as in decentralized operations only one of us is at the phone at a time and the same person is also responsible for packing the packages. The response time of emails is reduced.

Parcel traffic works normally Parcel services operate normally both in Finland and abroad. Therefore there are no prospects of zero availability and our stock is also at a good level at the moment.

Deliveries for people in risk group If you or a family member is at risk group (over 70 years old, lung disease or other significant risk factor), we will provide free home delivery in Finland. The order can be ordered normally and the home delivery price (Posti 14) will be refunded when it's mentioned in the order details. We do not ask anyone for ID or certificates, but at the same time we do wish that the people at "non at risk" has a self respect not to use targeted assistance specifically for those people in need.

Overreacting or not?
We hope that this is an overreaction, but at the same time we are afraid that it's not. In any case we do our bit and take care of our ability to operate - it is in everyone's best interest.

But here is also some good news, D2 suspension shipments and orders works normally!



D2 has gained lots of popularity here in Finland, especially Street kit which is many peoples choice when replacing the old OEM suspension. Height and damping adjustment is excellent for all driving conditions in Finland. In the winter its possible to lift the suspension a little and in the spring lower again for example during the tire change. Damping adjustment gives much more comfort when its possible to adjust the stiffness depending what surface you drive on.

Coilover kits are road legal and we deliver our approval for the inspection, with that only the wheel alignment paper is needed. There is two years warranty on D2 street kits and it also includes the comfort warranty which means that its possible to change the spring + spring rates within 60 days of purchase, paying shipping costs only.

More trust for cooling with Davies Craig electronic water pumps. Can be used as booster or as replacement for original water pump. Models available from 15-150l/min, smaller models are with nylon body where bigger models are with stronger aluminiium body.

Water pumps can be bought separately or as a package with controller. All packages include installation kit. Controller can adjust liquid flow rate adjustment or if wanted also fan speed adjustment. Speed and uptime can be modified for example as pump stays running for x-time after turning off the engine. Fan can be adjusted to start at wanted temperature which is adjustable.

Widebands
Lets not keep guessing and lets get "warranty" for engine, so possible problems can be found before more bigger problems. Of course engine adjustments are easier to do when you can get readings precisely.



Our range of widebands covers three different high quality brands: PLX, VEMS and Innovate widebands. Also available for V-engines with two lambda sensors.
Innovate DLG model which has two lambda sensors to measure from two exhausts to same screen has been the favourite for american cars.

If you are looking for wideband for turbo engine and the exhaust temperature measurements would be nice to see, best option is VEMS wideband. Next to AFR you can get EGT readings, which are especially good to see on high tuned turbo engines.
PLX widebands represent more modern package with touch screen. PLX has also availability for SM-PRO unit which makes attaching various other sensors possible. For example water/oil temperature, fuel pressure or EGT. (Boost included on unit).

With Davies Craig electric water pump you can get more trust in the cooling system, its possible to use it with the original water pump as a booster or use only the electric pump - its your choice! There is pumps available between 15-150l/min, smallest ones are with nylon body and biggest models with more durable aluminium body, which is actually a really great thing in bigger flowing rates and more hard use.

Its possible to buy only water pumps separately or as a set which includes the controller. With controller its you can adjust the water flow and even a fan if needed, for example you can adjust the pump to stay on for a x-time after the engine has been switched off. There are three major brands in the wideband range - PLX, VEMS, and Innovate, it (Innovate) also has excellent wideband for V-engines, which has been a favorite for USA engines when two sensors have two values on the same screen. Innovates basic model MTX-L has also gained popularity over the last few years, even as much as it is now one of the most sold widebands and usually always in stock.

If there is wideband in the search for a turbo engine, and it would be nice to keep up to date with the exhaust temperature smartest choise is VEMS. In addition to wideband numbers, the display shows the exhaust temperatures as well which makes it especially efficient for turbo engines. D2 coilovers coming in stock!

D2 coilover kit is an excellent choice for street and track, all kit has height adjustment and 36-step damping adjustment. Most kits are with McPherson and then includes the camber adjustable top mounts. Few of the most popular kits are coming in our stock with next shipment from D2.



We did take few of the most popular ones here (Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz) and they will arrive soon, in our next shipment. Height and damping adjustable coilover kit is an excellent choice for here in Finland. For winter lift it up and lower it back before summer, for example while changing tyres.

D2 kits are fully road legal here in Finland and we deliver all the Street kits with our approval on the side if you want. For the inspection you need our approval, wheel aligment report and the car. Quaife, Kaaz, Cusco ja Gripper - Best differentials on the market! This post includes a overview from our differential brands.



For torsen or gear LSD we have Quaife and for clutch-type we have Kaaz, Cusco & Gripper. Quaife operation is based on a geared mechanism which tries to keep the wheel spinning at the same rate when torque is directed to the wheel with less speed and thats why it's best for street use. Cluch-type (Cusco, Kaaz, Gripper) are based on internal clutch discs which by applied torque are pressed together to lock the differential and that why they are best for race use.
