Algselt postitas: Maku Functionality The warnings and alerts displayed on the Autocheck system fall into two categories. Firstly, the critical red alerts which are safety related or warn of possible severe engine damage. Secondly, a number of advisory yellow warnings which are less urgent. Yellow warnings will only be displayed if there are no red alerts detected by the Autocheck system. In the event of multiple alerts, the relevant symbols are cycled approximately every two seconds. In both instances an audible chime/beep accompanies the visible symbols. The red alerts are distinguished by three warning chimes in succession whilst the yellow alerts have a single audible chime. Display Test A quick way to test the Autocheck display is with the leftmost button on the instrument cluster. This also doubles as the dimmer control for the instrument illumination. Pushing this button for five seconds while the car is stationary (with ignition ON) will start the Autocheck display test sequence which will briefly cycle each warning symbol. If none of these symbols are displayed then check that the night AND day illumination bulbs on the Autocheck LCD module are working correctly. The test sequence will not be started if the system has detected a red alert condition. RED Alerts Hydraulic system warning - This can be caused by one or more of three detectable fault conditions. Firstly, that the brake fluid level is too low. Secondly, that the hydraulic fluid level is too low. Thirdly, that the hydraulic system pressure is too low. Coolant temperature alarm - There are two causes for this condition. Firstly that coolant temperature is too high. Secondly, that the coolant level is too low. Engine oil pressure too low (below 1.8bar above 2000rpm or below 0.3bar at idle) - Should you ever be unlucky enough to see this, STOP and switch off engine immediately. It is just possible that a very low oil level may cause this condition but a tow truck is gonna be the least expensive way home. YELLOW Warnings Brake light failure (Note - This must be displayed when the ignition is turned on and be extinguished when the brake pedal is pressed) Bulb failure - only applies to dipped headlights and rear lights Washer fluid level low - always seems to happens when you need it most ! Fuel level low - Occurs at approximately eight litres of fuel in the tank Alternator charge too high or battery voltage too low Speed Warning Speed Warning System This is a little known aspect of the Autocheck system which is actually quite handy now and again. First off it only works if there are no active red alerts. To select the desired speed at which a warning should be given, press the leftmost button on the cluster briefly while driving. The speed warning symbol (in km/h or mph depending on your Autocheck language setting ) will be briefly displayed to verify that the selcted speed has been stored. This speed remains until another limit is chosen by pressing the button again or until the ignition is turned off. Autocheck will give the speed warning symbol and an audible chime when the selected speed has been exceeded by approx 10 km/h. The warning symbol will be turned off when speed is reduced OR if it is increased to more than 40km/h above the selected limit for longer than thirty seconds. To clear the speed warning, the system button needs to be pressed for longer than a second, at which point an audible chime will confirm that the speed warning system has been de-activated.
