It was originally fitted with a MTM 520BHP conversion by QST and then a further FMIC was added by the orginally owner. I purchased it from the 2nd owner and immediately took it to Sussex rolling road where it made 430BHP ... A trip to MRC resulted in new 660cc injectors and a custom "Mihnea" remap with a MAF reading of 435 g/s (or 543BHP using the 0.8 conversion). Back to Sussex RR and it made 470BHP....very odd... I kinda gave up at this point and excepted that the RR I was using was not great.....fast forward to Audisrs meeting a Surrey RR. Car makes 493BHP but the MAF is only reading 390g/s....back to MRC Doug takes the car out with me driving and the car is only making 1.4bar falling to 1.2 at redline.....new MAF, N75 and 710n DVs and the car makes 400g/s. Still very odd as the car wouldn't boost more than 1.4bar. Today, 3 weeks after the above trip I'm back to pick up new tyres from Doug. [b]Since Vipers car had an issue with the air-intake system Doug thinks that mine has the same problem....so bottom off the airbox with no filter and it reads 430g/s up the test hill (car exceeds 1.5bar all the way to the redline as well !)! Big holes in airbox and it and the filter back on the car and it makes 418g/s (537BHP) up the hill.[/b] I've got a new ITG filter coming for ADI so hopefully 430g/s with the airbox is possible. On the way back from MRC the car is amazing, it jumps forward on acceleration rather than winds itself up like before. The theory behind all this is that high boost/horse power cars are restricted by the airbox and airfilter and that this restriction forces the turbos to work hard pulling air in which in-turn compresses the concertina hose and causes more of an issue. I'm now looking at cone filters and possible custom hose for the maf to Y pipe. My car now, for the first time, feels
